This review intends to present the main themes included in the book Diálogo das Civilizações: cultura e passagens, organized by Olgária Matos, Denise Milan and Javier Amadeo. Using dialogue as the tone to present arguments about the increasingly necessary coexistence between different forms of human organizations, the book's texts have the potential to shift our worldview from the first pages, through the rescue of a significant part of the history of Lebanon, a West Asian country. The book is the outcome of an international seminar that took place in the city of São Paulo in 2013, called “Diálogo das Civilizações com Ênfase no Líbano”.
