This review presents the contributions of As lógicas sociais do gosto (2019) to social sciences. The book, edited by Carolina Pulici and Dmitri Fernandes, is divided into eight chapters and aims to analyze the social logics of taste in several cultural universes. To do so, the authors rely on several qualitative and quantitative methods, such as interviews and focus groups, questionnaires, secondary data analysis, documental sources, etc. Paying attention to the changes and continuities that shape cultural hierarchies and the social structure of the social spaces examined, the authors demonstrate pertinent correlations between the social position of individuals and their cultural dispositions and preferences. Moreover, the book is of interest to the social sciences as it explores a wide variety of contemporary themes, for example, the influence of internationalization processes and economics in national cultural spaces.
