Abstract

The imaginative exercise of placing authors and their ideas to experience another time and another place can be fruitful in countless ways. Here, I am interested in uniting perception and imagination to create an imagined conversation not in the future or in the past but in a suspended time. If we agreed not to die in the face of the global and transtemporal agreement to kill us, fabulation as a creative effort to imagine and create new and old narratives emerges as a way of living and stay alive. The present text is a theoretical-literary essay about times and blackness and, in it, there is an imagined encounter between Achille Mbembe, Edouard Glissant, Frank Wilderson III, Lélia Gonzalez, Marcus Garvey and Saidiya Hartman.
