In the first paragraph of the book, Piault announces that if “filming in ethnology” was in the order of evidence, all problems related to the discipline would be solved, so he gives clues to where the anthropologist-filmmaker should walk. The author highlights several cinematographic experiences, that is, films already made, to show the contacts and intersections between cinema and anthropology. The author calls the filmmakers of the real to continue in the movement of destabilization of an encompassing knowledge, to test the exchanges of societies.
