This essay aims to present artistic, social, political, cultural and anthropological perspectives on the body and hair of black women. We use poetry that deals with dramas and traumas that cross the lives of black women, as well as poetry that puts the female black body in the place of protagonist, of acting against racist practices and violence. We bring excerpts from the authors' experience reports, as well as fragments of interviews conducted by the researchers in different periods (2010; 2017; 2019). Research that dealt with the phenomenon of body and hair construction for black women in Brazil and Mozambique. We show experiences of black women in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília and Maputo. We approach native categories, such as: capillary hierarchy. We reflect on the instruments that are used to compose African and aphrodiasporic aesthetics, the imagery and subjectivity of black women.
