The paper seeks to entangle the ways of perception of anthropology and speculative fiction, going in the direction of an ecology of life and of multispecies worlds. With this in mind, it makes the novel Aniquilation, from Jeff Vandermeer, it’s field of work, thinking together with the book about questions of the anthropocene and of modes of attention contaminated by other species. The concept of “shimmer”, used by the writer and by anthropologists like Deborah Rose-Bird, it is mobilized to reflect on the possible articulation between fiction and anthropology.
