Sixty years after the creation of the drug that supposedly revolutionized women’s lives, a new generation says no to the contraceptive pill. This article is the result of an anthropological investigation carried out in the city of Florianópolis, SC, in 2019. One of the research’s objectives was to understand who were these women and why were they choosing not to use hormonal contraceptives anymore. Among the collected narratives it was possible to verify the following arguments: a desire to be healthier and to have more libido; fear of becoming ill; desire to know themselves. In addition to understanding the uses and disuses of a controversial drug such as the contraceptive pill, the text also permeates notions of body, health, and well-being.
